Oracle and HP have increased their commitment to HP Integrity servers running Oracle software, thereby helping enterprises optimise their business operations. As part of the move, Oracle has announced that its 10g infrastructure software, database, Oracle Fusion Middleware, Oracle Enterprise Manager and the Oracle E-Business Suite will run on HP Integrity servers running HP-UX 11i. Oracle is now working to deliver its Oracle E-Business Suite, a fully integrated, comprehensive set of business applications for enterprises, worldwide for HP Integrity servers running HP-UX 11i. Besides, the company also rates HP-UX 11i running on Intel Itanium processors as a strategic platform.
Oracle is also extending its licencing support for the partitioning technologies of the HP virtual server environment, a vital element of the HP Integrity server virtualisation offering. HP products, coupled with Oracle's technology licencing models, help customers realise a lower total cost of ownership. Customers can take advantage of HP's partitioning continuum, which includes HP Integrity virtual machines and secure resource partitions, where only the total number of capped processors within the server is required to be licenced.
At the same time, HP is extending Oracle Fusion Middleware into its worldwide competency centres to assist customers in planning, designing, implementing and managing service-oriented architectures (SOA).
Judson Althoff, vice president, platform and distribution alliances, Oracle, said, "HP's technology and server products have long been a strategic foundation for Oracle applications and infrastructure software. Today, we are demonstrating Oracle's increasing and ongoing commitment to the HP Integrity family of servers as a truly optimal platform for an enterprise's most demanding workload. We look forward to the ongoing success of Integrity alongside our database and application products."
